Selective Laser Sintering
For those concerned with the strength of their components, we have a fleet of SPLS machines and are happy to supply a single part, or low volume production. We manufacture in PA12, PA12GF, and can supply parts in PA12 with specialist additives such as graphene.
If you require a short run of 10 or 20 parts, to a production standard and with minimum capital costs then this may be the technology you require. Polyurethane components are vacuum cast from silicone tools which are themselves made from AM master patterns. The parts can have a variety of Shore hardnesses, colours and transparencies.
Sometimes only the intended production material will do. Aben can supply CNC machined parts from your CAD in a wide range of polymer and non-ferrous materials. Investment casting is a well know and controlled process which can produce parts in a wide variety of metals. A sacrificial pattern, normally made from wax’ is used and is covered in a ceramic shell which is fired, hardening the shell and burning out the core. Whilst the shell is still hot, molten metal is poured into the shell. The metal cools and the shell can be removed leaving a copy of the original pattern. Using advanced AL techniques, Aben can produce patterns in prototype volumes, enabling metal parts to be produced easily and quickly, without the need for expensive tooling.
Silicone Polyjet Printing
PolyJet technology offers outstanding detail, surface smoothness and precision, creating detailed prototypes that convey final-product aesthetics. You can simulate elastomers and flexible parts, 3D Printed silicone is ideal for hoses and gaskets. Functional prototypes can be produced for initial product validation tests. The printed parts have characteristics of silicone such as resistance, reproducibility after deformation or stress, elasticity.
Multi Jet Fusion uses a thin layer of powder is first spread over the build platform where it is heated to a near-sintering temperature. A carriage with inkjet nozzles (which are similar to the nozzles used in desktop 2D printers) passes over the bed, depositing fusing agent on the powder. At the same time a detailing agent that inhibits sintering is printed near the edge of the part.
